Digital engagement continues to influence the wider legal market in 2026. However, adoption levels vary significantly across different branches of the profession. While a small minority of leading law firms have implemented website chatbox functionality, the position among barristers’ chambers is markedly different.

An analysis of 50 leading barristers’ chambers indicates that 0 chambers (0%) currently utilise a website chatbox, while 50 chambers (100%) do not offer this feature.
The absence of chatbox functionality among barristers’ chambers reflects a more traditional outlook within this segment of the profession.
While adoption among top 50 law firms remains relatively low at, it nonetheless demonstrates some movement toward digital client engagement tools. In contrast, barristers’ chambers show no uptake at all.
As digital expectations continue to evolve, chambers may face future pressure to modernise elements of their online presence. However, any shift toward chat-based engagement would need to align with the Bar’s operational model and professional framework.
