Saffron Walden Tourist Information Center, located in the heart of the market square, has been a long-time client of Tela. Their website serves as a vital tool for promoting the town, providing clear and accessible information for visitors coming to explore Saffron Walden. They also have a very successful online shop, which is constantly kept up-to-date with locally sourced products.
Objectives
The primary goal was to create a user-friendly website that is easily navigable for all visitors. We worked with the TIC to ensure that all content would be easily found and displayed in an attractive and organised manner. Especially as there would be a huge amount of important information about where to stay, what to do and events in Saffron Walden. We built the shop using WooCommerce and trained the TIC team to add, edit and delete products. The site also needed to provide comprehensive information on local activities and accommodation options for visitors to the area. these can be easily found
What We Did
Tela developed a WordPress website, integrating a WooCommerce facility to enable the creation of an online shop for local products. To improve user experience, we implemented a directory-style section that allows visitors to easily find things to do and places to stay in Saffron Walden. The site also includes a comprehensive event calendar, which involves all community events in the area. Moreover, the website was designed with user convenience in mind, ensuring that essential information, such as where to stay, places to visit, parking and travel details, are easy to find.
